This was a campaign I worked on for the 2016-2017 presidential election for the Lazaridis Students’ Society, that involved both digital media on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as well as print.
Top Left is the Facebook/Twitter/Instagram profile picture for the campaign. I wanted to make the main image of the campaign memorable, so I rendered the candidates face in a similar fashion to the Smokes Poutine face. Many of the people within the Business Program vote without ever meeting or knowing who the candidates are – my thought process was by putting a face to a name, would allowed uniformed voters to vote for the person they recognized the most. The colour scheme was also chosen to be memorable, using a blue similar to the Facebook blue, as well as the Laurier gold to evoke familiarity.
Top Right is the Facebook/Twitter Slider for the campaign. The candidate was known for his glasses, and again helped differentiate from the other conduit whom not bespectacled. Like most of the campaign, the designs were made to be almost overly simplistic to get the singular message of voting for the candidate across.
On the bottom is the weekly schedule of the campaign. The candidates were given a limited budget, and a lot of the votes were garnered on trivial basis such as, “this candidate gave me chocolate,” so I will now vote for him.
These were business cards that were handed out, with the left side being the front and the right side being the back. The candidate ran on a three pillar promise, the first pillar being inclusivity, in order to make the entire business club society more inviting to non-members and non-executives – less cliquy. The second pillar being more support in terms of academics, and the third being creating a larger sense of community with the business student body.
These were printed out posters that were placed throughout the school as well as at the candidates campaign booth. The left poster is an infographic of what the candidate had done previous to seeking election as president. The right poster is one of ten, in which a quote from the candidate to provide insight in his plans for the society upon election.
